North
South Divide
The stereotypical idea that there is a north south divide is examined in this project. Through portraiture, inspired by August Sanders and Duane Hanson, the difference is questioned and possibly collapsed.
America
on Parade For the past six years I have been documenting parades as an exemplar of the American experience. They reveal how America functions, its values, its strengths, it weaknesses and contradictions but above all its love of glamour and spectacle, which underpins its culture.
Thinking
of England From the vantage point of an ex-pat looking in on the nature of English nationality I have made a series of portraits. Ranging from photographs of members of St. John's Ambulance service, Chelsea Pensioners and the Handle Bar Club It shows the traditions and eccentricities of English Society.
The Veterans Tales
Published in the New York Times Magazine this group of intimate portraits focuses on the forgotten veterans of the Korean War and the lack of recognition which the soldiers received. The project soon expanded to include all veterans.
Street In and Out
I carry my camera almost everywhere, the street offers me a visual backdrop for many of my subjects.
Forbidden
A recent trip to China inspired the group of images, Personally I was amazed with the warm hearted nature of the people. Little is forbidden now and the similarities between the west and east are very apparent. The work focuses on the old which is disappearing at the same pace as the economic uprise.
In Progress
My latest project on 1861, Wrestlers, Looking for God .
